NCPS Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Maybe life has become too much to hold together. You are constantly thinking about what needs to be done, but don’t have much space to think about you. You might be carrying a lot from work, family or relationships. You might be questioning your direction, identity or what you actually want. Or you might simply have a sense that something isn’t quite right, without knowing exactly what it is.
Or maybe something has happened and things changed. A relationship, career, family situation, where you live, or simply the way you see yourself. The things that used to work for you don’t seem to work in the same way anymore, and you’re not quite sure what comes next.

Hi, I’m Eva.
I often work with people who are at a crossroads. Something has changed, they’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck, or the way they’ve been coping doesn’t seem to work anymore.
You might even find yourself thinking:
“I know something isn’t right.”
“I should be coping better than I am.”
“Life shouldn’t feel this hard”
“I don’t know what I want anymore.”
“I feel like I’ve lost touch with myself or life.”
“This feels too much.”
“I hold too much in and it has nowhere to go.”
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling.
So, what actually happens in counselling?
At its simplest, counselling gives you a dedicated space to stop, slow things down and talk about what is happening in your life.
You bring what feels important to you. We explore it together – your thoughts, feelings, experiences, relationships, patterns and the things you might find difficult to make sense of on your own.
I won’t simply tell you what you should do or give you a list of solutions. Instead, counselling is a collaborative process where we can begin to understand what is going on underneath the surface and make more space for you to hear your own thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes, having someone genuinely listen and help you look at things from a different perspective is enough to begin seeing things differently.
And sometimes we might explore things more creatively. Depending on what feels right for you, I may use journaling, creative exercises or mindful approaches alongside talking.
Rather than expecting you to fit into a particular model, I try to find a way of working that feels meaningful and useful for you.
For me, counselling isn’t about fixing something that is wrong with you. It’s about creating enough space to become curious about what is happening – your thoughts, feelings, experiences, relationships and patterns- and gradually making sense of things that may have felt confusing or difficult to understand on your own. This may at times feel as ‘getting better’, but in reality you might just getting to know yourself now.

Who might find counselling with me helpful?
I particularly enjoy working with people who might identify as sensitive and are at a point of change, uncertainty or transition – people who may feel that the way they’ve been living isn’t quite working anymore, but aren’t necessarily sure what they want to change. Finding sense in it all seams particularly difficult and can feel intense.
You might be:
- struggling with self-worth, self-doubt or dealing with a lot of expectations and pressure
- finding relationships or boundaries difficult
- questioning your identity, direction or what you actually want
- feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work, family or everyday life
- feeling stuck, lost or disconnected from yourself
- someone who feels things deeply and finds the world or everyday demands particularly difficult to navigate
- going through a life transition or period of change
- feeling that your usual ways of coping aren’t working anymore
- trying to understand yourself better and make sense of your experiences
You don’t need to identify with every one of these things. You may simply have a feeling that something needs to change.
“I cannot recommend Eva enough! I think anyone and everyone would benefit from sessions with her. She is patient, professional and I have seen much improvement since we’ve started working together.“

Why work with me?
I believe counselling should feel like a space where you can be yourself rather than perform being okay.
My approach is warm, curious and collaborative I’m gentle but real. I listen closely, ask questions that might help you look a little deeper, and I’m comfortable sitting with the messy, uncertain or difficult parts of being human. I won’t tell you what you should do or where your life should go. Instead, we’ll work together to explore what matters to you and what you might want to do differently.
I won’t expect you to arrive with a perfectly formed explanation of what is wrong. We can start wherever you are and work it out together.
For some people, that might mean talking things through. For others, it might involve slowing down, noticing what is happening internally, writing things down or using creative and mindful approaches to explore something that is difficult to put into words.
There is no single right way to do counselling.
What matters is finding a way of working that feels useful and meaningful for you.
There are various ways we can work together:
Some enjoy traditional face to face counselling in a counselling room. Others prefer move through outdoor spaces in ‘walk and talk’ format of therapy. Some people prefer attending counselling from comfort of their own home and work online with me. Finally some people really enjoy using various creative approaches to connect with and communicate what feels is not possible to express with words.

You don’t have to wait until things become unbearable.
Counselling isn’t only for when something has gone seriously wrong. Sometimes it can be helpful to have a space to pause and understand what is happening before you reach that point.
If you recognise yourself somewhere in this, you are welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch.
We can start there.
